The fishing rod is an essential basic equipment for fishing. It looks like a thin, long and multi segmented rod. It was originally a tool used by humans to fish for survival. Now it is usually used for recreational fishing in outdoor sports, and also used for fishing in black pits or fishing competitions. Now let's talk about how to classify the types of fishing rods!

1、 Material
1. Bamboo and wood rods: Bamboo and wood rods are the most primitive fishing rods. Many old fishermen like to use such fishing rods with exquisite workmanship. However, bamboo and wood rods have been gradually eliminated since the advent of glass fiber fishing rods. At present, only a few high-end "harmony rods" are still bamboo and wood rods.
2. Fiberglass rod: Fiberglass rod is the first generation of modern fishing rod. Its advantages are high strength, durable leather, and its disadvantages are heavy weight and poor hand feel. After the advent of lighter carbon fishing rod, fiberglass rod is gradually eliminated.
3. Carbon fishing rod: carbon fishing rod is the most mainstream fishing rod at present. Compared with bamboo and wood rods and glass fiber reinforced plastic fishing rods, carbon rods have the advantages of good toughness, light weight, good hand feel, etc., but the disadvantage is conductive, so they must not be used in thunderstorms and electric wires.
2、 Plugging
1. Parallel rod: parallel rod, also known as plug-in rod, refers to a fishing rod that connects the sections of the rod to form a whole. It has the advantages of good hand feel and can fish when fishing small fish, but it has the disadvantages of slow fish return, obvious weight and is not suitable for fishing large fish.
2. Vibrating rod: Vibrating rod is also called pulling rod, which refers to the fishing rod pulled out as a whole section by section like an antenna. Its advantages are easy to carry and widely used. Its disadvantages are that its solidity is often inferior to that of the parallel rod. In addition, vibrating rod is also the most mainstream fishing rod.
3、 Purpose
1. Handpole
The hand rod is one of the two types of fishing rods. It generally refers to all fishing rods without reels. There are two kinds of traditional rods and platform fishing rods due to different usage and design. The traditional rod is designed for traditional fishing methods, while the platform fishing rod is designed for Taiwan fishing.
⑴ Traditional pole
The traditional rod generally refers to the hand rod used in the traditional fishing method. Due to the different usage and design, it can be divided into two sub categories: stream rod and traditional long rod. The stream rod refers to the hand rod whose contracted length is less than 80 cm, while the gun rod refers to the hand rod whose extended length is more than 8 meters.
① Stream rod: the stream rod generally refers to a hand rod with a contracted length of less than 80 cm. It is named because it is suitable for fishing in small water areas such as streams. It is characterized by short rod sections, many rod sections, and heavy rod body. It is easy to carry, but its disadvantage is that its performance may not be as good as that of a fishing rod on the stage under the same conditions.
② Traditional long rod: the traditional long rod generally refers to the hand rod with a length of more than 8 meters. This kind of hand rod is designed for traditional fishing. For example, the long rod and short line straw fishing holes are almost all made of cannon rods, with a length of 8 meters, 9 meters, 10 meters, 11 meters, 12 meters, 13 meters, 14 meters, 15 meters, etc.
(2) Platform fishing rod
The platform fishing rod generally refers to the hand rod with a shrinking length of more than 100 cm. It is characterized by long rod section, less rod section, light weight and good handle. It can also be subdivided into several sub categories, such as crucian carp fishing rod, carp fishing rod, composite rod, combat rod, and big object rod, due to different fish conditions.
① Crucian carp rod: Crucian carp rod is specially designed for catching crucian carp. It is characterized by soft body, thin wall, light body, thin diameter, length of 3.6~4.5m, tonality of 37 tones or 37 to 28 tones, and weight of 4.5m is generally within 100g.
② Carp rod: Carp rod is specially designed for catching carp. It is characterized by hard body, thick wall, heavy weight, thick diameter, length of 4.5-6.3 meters, tonality of 28 or 19, and weight of 4.5 meters above 120 grams.
③ Comprehensive rod: The comprehensive rod is a fishing rod between the carp rod and the carp rod. The outstanding feature of this kind of fishing rod is its comprehensive performance. The advantage is that it has a better feel and strength than the carp rod. It can also be said that it is not as strong as the carp rod and not as strong as the carp rod.
④ Fighting rod: the fighting rod is designed for catching fish in the black pit. It is characterized by high hardness (generally expressed as H) and high top fishing value, in which high hardness is used to catch fish quickly, while high top fishing value is used to catch fish quickly.
⑤ Large fishing rod: large fishing rod is designed for fishing big fish such as herring. Compared with ordinary fishing rod, large fishing rod has higher self weight and greater fishing weight. Due to different design and fishing weight, large fishing rod can be subdivided into three types: light weight large fishing rod, large fishing rod and large fishing rod.
2. Sea pole
The sea pole is one of the two types of fishing rods. It generally refers to the fishing rod equipped with a winding wheel. When fishing, the winding wheel and the wire ring can be used to pay off and take up the line. The sea pole, rock pole, raft pole, luya pole, middle pass pole, front hit pole, etc. can be subdivided according to different usages.
(1) Sea pole: sea pole is also called throwing rod, throwing rod, etc. The handle position is equipped with a reel and the reel is full of fishing lines. When throwing with force, the hook can be thrown to a far place. Unlike hand pole, sea pole usually uses a fishing alarm to indicate fish news.
(2) Rocky pole: A rock pole is a fishing rod between a sea pole and a hand pole. It can be used as both a hand pole and a sea pole. Like a sea pole, a rock pole also has a winding wheel and a conductor ring, but the conductor ring of the rock pole is smaller than the sea pole and the pole body is smaller than the sea pole.
(3) Raft rod: the raft rod refers to the fishing rod fishing on the fishing raft. Generally, it is a two section plug-in rod, and a few are vibrating out rods. The length is 0.7~2.4 meters. The handle position is equipped with fishing boats. The rod is slightly small and densely distributed with wire rings. The rod is soft and very elastic.
(4) Luya rod: Luya rod refers to a fishing rod that uses imitated bait as fishing rod, and uses Luya (imitated bait) to fish. There are two kinds of Luya rods: gun handle Luya rod and straight handle Luya rod. The gun handle Luya rod is equipped with water drop wheel or drum wheel, and the straight handle Luya rod is equipped with spinning wheel.
(5) Front fishing rod: the front fishing rod is a fishing rod between the sea rod and the hand rod. The same point with the hand rod is that the length is long and the rod is used for fishing. The same point with the sea rod is that there are small fishing boats and wire rings. In addition, the length can be adjusted according to the actual needs.
(6) Zhongtong rod: Zhongtong rod is a fishing rod between a hand rod and a sea rod. It is equipped with fishing boats and runs in the line. In theory, it can not only shoot fish like a sea rod, but also experience the fun of fish walking like a hand rod, but in fact, it is not.
